The FatherLit Database is available for download as a Filemaker Pro file. You will need FileMaker Pro software to use this database.

We recommend downloading the database if you have a slow (less than 56K per second) Internet connection, if you must pay connection charges to use the Internet, or if you need an electronic copy of actual database records. FatherLit is also available through this web site for interactive, online searching. The online version will contain more up to date information. The current downloadable version dates from August 1999. Click on the link above to find out more about online searching.

Feel free to redistribute the downloadable version to friends and colleagues. We only ask that you not alter the database, and if you make the database available for download through another web site, you must credit the National Center on Fathers and Families as the producing organization.

The FatherLit Database is contained Stuffit archive (format is .HQX). You will need Stuffit Expander on your computer to decompress the archive. The Macintosh version requires 33 Mb of disk space, at least 4 Mb of RAM, MAC OS System 7.1 or higher, and a 13 inch or larger monitor.

  • Download the Macintosh version of the FatherLit Database (26.6 Mb)
  • The FatherLit Database is contained in a .ZIP compressed archive. You will need a .ZIP decompression program to install the Database. Check out Winzip, or Stuffit. The Windows version requires 38 Mb of disk space, 8 Mb of RAM, Windows 3.1 or higher (Windows 95/98 or Windows NT/4.x preferred), and a 13 inch or larger monitor.
